caibinxia0104 LCD Soundsystem, "This Is Happening." James Murphy's latest dance party makes more overt than ever his love for David Bowie ("Drunk Girls"), Talking Heads ("Dance Yrself Clean"), Iggy Pop and the Stooges ("Somebody's Calling Me") and Brian Eno among others. But he's inventive.beats headphones, clever and relentlessly danceable in his own right. 11. Mumford & Sons, "Sigh No More." If the Avett Brothers (or Dave Matthews) grew up in England, this might be the stirring, fervent result. It's a magical album, laced w.dr dre beatsith banjo-driven folk and bluegrass. "The Cove" and "Little Lion Man" shine brightest. 12. Sleigh Bells, "Treats." This ear-shredding yet insanely ear-pleasing debut melds girl-group vocals, slamming dance beats and fuzzed-out d.dr dreistorted guitars. 13. John Mellencamp, "No Better Than the Rest." Recording in hallowed places, Mellencamp gets real and authentic, leaving behind his crowd-pleasing, populist rock for something deeper and more transfixing. .dre headphones 14. Deerhunter, "Halcyon Digest." This reminds the Doc of his favorite shoegaze bands: It's hypnotic, dreamy, delicately pretty and woozy. Something about it lingers, like a favorite dream just out of grasp. "Helicopter" i.dr dre headphoness one of the year's most gorgeous, sublime songs. 15. (Tie). Devo, "Something for Everybody" and Beach House, "Teen Dream." Against all odds, Devo's first album in 20 years rocks with the same herky-jerky passion, deadpan i.beats by drerony and club-savvy robotic/rhythmic drive that informed their 1970 classics. The energy level is off the chart. Beach House takes its dreamy, evocative folk-pop to shimmering new heights for late-night, curl-up-with-headphones.p90x listening. Honorable mentions: Ray LaMontagne and the Pariah Dogs, "God Willin' and the Creek Don't Rise"; Neil Young, "Le Noise"; Yeasayer, "Odd Blood"; Gorillaz, "Plastic Beach"; Gaslight Anthem, "American Slang"; Dead Weather, "Sea .beats by dreof Cowards"; Secret Sisters, "Secret Sisters"; The National, "High Violet"; New Pornographers, "Together"; Surfer Blood, "Astro Coast"; and Elton John and Leon Russell, "The Union." The start of a new decade is always a weird time fo.p90xr music. The stars of the previous ten years will often be still punching in for good releases, while it’s also common for a lot of new artists to begin their voyage into our personal Rolodex. This year follows a similar pattern set by the decade s.coachtraddlers of the past. While some of our heroes from the aughts delivered some truly viable editions to their already respectable catalogs, a lot of recently emerged and brand spanking new artists dropped by this year, possibly delivering us th.rosettae blueprint for the 2010s, or simply giving us flash in the pan fads for the moment. Either way, we at Death and Taxes had a good time listening to them. Here are some of our favorites from 2010. Arguably the stabilizing force of the Diamond District trio, yU delivered a nostalgic opus that was part boom bap—reminiscent of the hip-hop I loved in high school—and part florescent freedom music that challenged listeners to look ahead to better days. "Fine," a quick, hypnotic loop at the album's center, is dipped in struggle, yet nurturing enough to wash away the pain. Don't be fooled by yU's seemingly calm demeanor. On the battle-ready "The UP&UP," he proves that he's more than willing to serve second-guessers. "I reign as the humble king, crown made of copper oil/You the best, not for long, sleep until ya spot is gone."

caibinxia0104 The deluge of CES-related vendor marketing has begun in earnest… over the past few weeks we’ve received a barrage of emails from vendors who are able to blast out to the press and others in advance of the show. From an exposure perspective, it can be a pretty sweet deal for the smaller companies. So here are some of the interesting things, be they terribly useful or not, that have come across our desks. Just remember, this is the “other .beats headphonesthan tablets” list. And also remember if you’re going to CES: wear comfortable shoes, drink lots of water – it’s a marathon and you’ll still want to be awake and standing for those late-night sessions, and, try not to feed the animals. In fact, the Doctor hasn't had this much trouble figuring out his Favorite 15 in a long time. So, he's cheating a bit with a tie for No. 15, followed by a long.dr dre beatser-than-usual list of honorable mentions. Remember: This is his list of what he liked most out of what he heard in 2010, not a definitive best-of-year declaration. No one can hear everything, not when your Facebook friends tag you for a billion polls, quizzes and lists. 1. Arcade Fire, "The Suburbs." Arcade Fire fans were divided by "The Suburbs," possibly because it's the Montreal band's mo.dr drest accessible album yet. The Doctor finds it to be its best -- a rich, layered, epic work that digs deeper than most bands thematically, and is all the greater for it. The band ponders how the innocence and joy of childhood give way to the disappointment and disillusionment of adulthood, signified by life in the 'burbs. But it's no downer of an album, not when Arcade Fire crafts majestic anthems .dre headphonesthat lift you up and sweep you away: From "Modern Man" to "Ready to Start" to "City with No Children" to extraordinary "Sprawl II," "The Suburbs" shines with transcendent beauty, even when darkness lurks within. 2. Broken Bells, "Broken Bells." This beguiling, dreamy collaboration between the Shins' James Mercer and Danger Mouse (Gnarls Barkely) marries subtle, shifting dance-pop be.dr dre headphonesats with ethereal melodies and sophisticated pop song writing. The best cuts, such as the glorious "High Road," transporting, totally Shins-like "Your Head is On Fire" and infectious, irresistible "The Ghost Inside," are pure rapture. The Doc could gush some more, but this album gushes just fine on its own. It's one you can fall in love with. 3. Kanye West, "My Dark Beautiful Twi.beats by drested Fantasy." The only subject he seems interested in is himself. His ego is preposterously large ("if God had an iPod, I'd be on his playlist"), yet he has the talent to merit a Hindenberg-sized ego. That makes the wildly ambitious "Fantasy" so fascinating: He's good, knows he's good, yet racked by self-doubts, insecurities and a need to be loved (by fans and critics). The flaws make him human; .p90xthe relentless honesty -- and the dense, far-reaching musical scope (sampling King Crimson, bringing in Bon Iver, Elton John, Jay-Z) -- make him an artist worth following in all his freaky, twisted glory. 4. Black Keys, "Brothers." On "Brothers," Black Keys take its gutbucket, blues obsession to the next level by emphasizing the groove as much as the riff. The limber rhythm section plays a far bigger ro.beats by drele and the result is a knockout, fully realized album that gets funky, soulful, trippy, freaky and on the contagious "Howlin' for You," simultaneously bluesy, poppy and dance-y. Slinky, soulful single "Tighten Up" is one of the year's best singles, too. Love Hendrix and the White Stripes? You'll eat this up, guaranteed. 5. Robert Plant, "Band of Joy." As much as the Doc liked Plant's Grammy-w.p90xinning work with Alison Krauss, he's even more enthused about "Band of Joy." It melds his rockabilly, rootsy impulses with the pastoral/mystical approach that Zeppelin best explored on "III." It doesn't hurt that his terrific band mates include Patty Griffin and Buddy Miller. This is a graceful, utterly assured work that also proves Plant's vocals have only deepened and ripened over time. 6. Vampire Weeke.coachnd, "Contra." Following up a beloved debut that makes you the toast of hipsters is no easy task; they abandon you for the next-to-be big thing. But don't blame Vampire Weekend if "Contra" didn't make as much of a splash; they delivered the goods -- buoyant, fresh, dizzying pop rooted in Afro-pop, calypso and ska sensibilities. It's "Graceland" on amphetamines, an upbeat, instant mood-changer. 7. Janel.rosettale Monae, "The ArchAndroid" Prince reportedly declared Monae his favorite new artist for good reason: Her audacious ambition and panoramic musical scope on "The ArchAndroid" rival what the Purple One attempted when painting his more elaborate, sprawling canvasses. She's out there, yes, but this is a universe you'll want to revisit often because she's like no one else, an utter original. 8. Jamey Johnson, "The Guitar Song." Sorry, Taylor: This is real country with a capital "C" by today's finest songwriter. No line summed up 2010 better than this: "It may be lonely at the top, but it's a bitch at the bottom." "Guitar Song" is heartfelt, lived-in, emotionally powerful country by a real-deal talent. 9. The Old 97s, "The Grand Theatre, Vol. 1." Rhett Miller's solo albums surpassed the Old 97s' work the past few years, but not this time. The band's cowpunk spunk is back, while Miller brings his song-writing "A" game on their best, most engaging album since "Satellite Rides."

caibinxia0104 Between takes the sound of the musicians talking to each other was so realistic I more than once took out the Ultimate Ears because I thought the musicians were standing behind me. The Reference Monitors are, first and foremost, monitors, and now that I've used them that way it.beats headphones'll be hard to go back to using monitor speakers at sessions. I also brought along my full-size Hifiman HE-5 headphones, and while the sound wasn't as pinpoint specific as the Ultimate Ears, the HE-5's sound was the best I've hea.dr dre beatsrd from those headphones. I'm guessing that "Explorations in Space and Time" will be a great demo for establishing headphone performance limits. I also checked out the session sound on Grado SR60 headphones ($79), which were also stella.dr drer. So you don't have to have expensive headphones to hear what's special about this recording. The one downside to binaural recording is the center part of the stereo image can sound a little vague. The engineers at the session did.dre headphones their best to lock in a tighter center, but it still needs work. If you've ever heard a binaural recording, tell us about it in the comments section. In the interest of full disclosure I occasionally do freelance work for .dr dre headphonesChesky Records and HDtracks, which will be selling high- and standard-resolution downloads of this music in early 2011.Ask any audiophile what can make digital music sound good (though not great as nothing beats vinyl!) and they wi.beats by drell tell you it is three things: music that is in a uncompressed format, good speakers (or headphones) and a killer DAC. The Digital Analog Converter is what gives your music a "flavor". Some DAC's make the music sound warmer, some make .p90xit sound more colder; but no matter what your music taste a good DAC can make your listening experience a positive or a terrible one. The lowly DAC really is that big a deal. Sadly, when it comes to USB devices, the DAC's used in them are usually.beats by dre suboptimal at best and usually can be summed up by saying their best feature is their low price. It is for this reason the Furutech GT40 USB-DAC is so intriguing as they usher in a new area of music enjoyment with its high grade DAC's! .p90xImagine being able to combine the ease of use & portability that USB offers, with the killer sound that only a high grade DAC can give you. Now imagine a device that can do all that and you have what could be the ultimate audiophile dream come true! .coachThis really does sound like a radical departure from the everyday and maybe even herald in a paradigm shift with USB audio no longer being considered inferior devices! The only caveat is that the GT-40 DAC costs $480 Prediction: this time next w.rosettaeek the word “tablet” will make you queasy. As we’ve mentioned before, there are over 70 80 of them lined up ready to debut at CES this week in Las Vegas. I’m also quite certain that the story — that tablets are the future of computing — will continue to grab more than its fair share of headlines throughout the year, which is not necessarily a bad thing considering they’ve thankfully killed the sad and underpowered netbook. Will any of them be suave enough, though, to take on the Apple iPad (already rounding 2nd base with an updated model in the next month or so)? But CES is a big show — just ask any of the 125,000 people who plan to attend this year — and with over 1.4M square feet of exhibit space you can bet there are lots of other interesting products around the halls of the LV Convention Center and Venetian

caibinxia0104 I attended such a recording session in mid-December and was treated to the best, most realistically natural sound I've heard. Over monitor speakers the sound was excellent, but the sound over my Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor in-ear .beats headphonesheadphones was vastly better. I could listen to the music "live," and then rush back to the control room and don the headphones. The gap between live and recorded sound has never been smal.dr dre beatsler. All of the music was improvised on the spot by three master percussionists: Lenny White (who played with Return to Forever and Miles Davis), Jamey Haddad (Herbie Hancock, Paul Simon),.dr dre and Mark Sherman (Tony Bennett, New York Philharmonic). The three men pumped out funky beats, kinetic grooves, and dense musical atmospheres with a vast array of drums, shakers, gongs, and a.dre headphones vibraharp. Both the conventional high-resolution digital recording (176-kHz/24-bit) and a separate hi-res binaural recording were produced by David Chesky and recorded by Nicholas.dr dre headphones Prout. Both recordings were completely uncompressed and no equalization or processing of any kind were used. Since it was an audiophile session, no compression or EQ will be applied in t.beats by drehe final mastering of the recordings. In other words, the sound I heard at the session will be the sound you hear Head-Fi founder Jude Mansilla was also present at the session. He was there f.p90xor the fun of it and because this recording, "Explorations in Space and Time," will first be made available via high-resolution download, on Head-Fi's Web site in late January. The binaural recording's mi.beats by drecrophones were installed in a dummy head, where the ear canals would be. So binaural recording playback virtually puts the listener's ears in the microphones positions at the session. Binaural .p90xrecording isn't new, I remember hearing binaural demonstrations in the 1970s, but I certainly haven't heard any high-resolution binaural recordings that approach this quality before. The first thing I no.coachticed about the sound was its lifelike dynamics. When Lenny White first whacked his snare drum I literally jumped, and the big bass drums' impact and lowdown authority was as visceral as I've ever heard.rosetta from a set of headphones. The dynamic shadings of the vibes, small and large drums, and the magnificent tympani were all distinctly rendered. The spatial realism of the headphone sound was extremely true to life (binaural recordings capture the full 360 degree lateral sound field surrounding the dummy head). The session was held at a large old church in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and the recording captured the sound of the instruments filling the huge space. That recording approach stands in sharp contrast to virtually all contemporary recordings done in acoustically dead studios, where the engineers have to apply digital reverberation to make the music sound like it was recorded in a live space. Trust me on this, the real thing (acoustic space) sounds far more realistic. Duh!

caibinxia0104 A person’s sensitivity to earbud tips will enter into the comfort equation, no matter what brand you’re using. My ears will not accommodate the hard plastic bud, like those supplied with most iPods, iPhones, etc. Price doesn’t nece.beats headphonesssarily mean comfort either, as I have one high-priced set of noise canceling headphones from Sony that fit less well than a pair purchased at half the cost. The Comply tips are soft.dr dre beats, they conform to the ear’s innards and body heat makes them expand to fit. I wore them the first time for 45 minutes straight, will no ill effects and they blocked out most of the h.dr dreip-hop raging over the loudspeakers in the gym (therefore do not wear them while driving, biking or walking along Fifth Avenue this time of year). The company suggests that they be swapped.dre headphones out after three months of use. There’s a compatibility chart on the product’s Web site, for fitting the correct tip to specific ear buds. Nearly all brands on the market can be.dr dre headphones upgraded, and the upgrade is usually as simple as pulling off the old tip and pushing on the replacement. Roman sandals and an electronic keyboard are among dozens of suspected former.beats by dre Christmas gifts that Wairarapa people want to sell online. A nationwide surge in Trade Me listings since December 25 has been partly attributed to people selling unwanted presents. S.p90xome, such as the sandals and keyboard from Masterton, are identified as unwanted leftovers, likely from Christmas Day. The keyboard, appearing under the headline Unwanted Gift, is in purportedly "li.beats by dreke new" condition, and "has been used for about 2 hours to test out when I first got it". Costing $200 new, the recipient is looking to sell it for $135. Other Wairarapa items describe.p90xd as unwanted gifts are two sports singlets, denim surf shorts and some "Dr Dre Beats" headphones. Trade Me spokesman Paul Ford said these "more blatant" sales were just part of the picture nationwide.coach. Mr Ford said Trade Me listings dropped off in the final week before Christmas as time ran out to finish a sale - but begin to pick up from 4pm Christmas Day. Nationwide there were about 12,00.rosetta0 new listings between 4pm Christmas Day to 9am Boxing Day, mostly from 8pm to 11pm December 25. In Wairarapa, there were 120 new listings over that period. Trade Me staff estimate about half of those are Christmas gifts being recycled. Women's clothing, cosmetics and jewellery feature high on the list of items, Mr Ford said. "It's not rocket science to realise that maybe the blokes have got it wrong - got a bit ambitious with the clothing or something". Mr Ford said the online service offers a "veil of anonymity" for disposing of gifts that otherwise might sit at the back of the cupboard. "It's likely that Great Aunt Rosie is never going to see it." Unless, of course, she was the one that gave a pair of Quiksilver denim shorts to her Martinborough nephew.

caibinxia0104 Just in case the new TRON movie, soundtrack, video games and iPhone app weren’t enough, high-end audio manufacturer Monster (Beats by Dre) and Disney are also offering custom Daft Punk TRON edition headphones. Mirror.beats headphonesing the French electro duo’s chrome-plated vibe and sci-fi virtual reality franchise’s futuristic feel, the $349.95 SRP cans feature animated LED lighting, glossy .dr dre beatsaesthetics and black, white and blue coloring keyed to the film’s decor. Daft Punk composed the soundtrack to feature film TRON: Legacy, a sequel to the .dr dre headphones1982 Hollywood originalWhen it comes to the United States and Europe, some things just don’t seem to translate. One of these has been Europop—you know the kind of songs .beats by dreyou hear pumping out of Mediterranean discos all summer long— bouncy dance beats, soaring synthesizers and cheesy choruses. Yet after years of disdain, Americans finally seem.p90x to be embracing the Euro-beat. Switzerland, of course, is home to a fair number of Europop stars, including one of the most enduring— DJ Bobo. WRS’s Alex Helmick calls on Charlie Amter,.beats by dre a journalist and author in Los Angeles, who has a blog called europopped.com Comply Foam Tips are….well, foam tips that replace the run-of-the-mill tips that come with most .p90xearbuds — those phenomenally popular products that are supposed to fit comfortably inside one’s ear (the ear canal, specifically), block out ambient noise and, in a perfect audio world, en.coachhance the sonics of the music. I picked up a set of these goodies for about $13, and the package included six tips—two small size, two medium, two large. I can’t say that replacing .rosettathe rubber tips on my Monster Beats Tour model earbuds with the medium Comply tips changed my life. But the difference in the sound made the music emerging from an iPod more rich and detailed, and punched up the bass in an earphone that excels in bass. They put me in my own little musical world for a time, precisely what headphones of all stripes are supposed to do. The Comply tips come from a company called Hearing Components, which is a spin-off of 3M. Besides making tips for music listeners, Hearing Components says it develops products for hearing aids and aviation use. According to the company, the tips I purchased use “viscoelastic polyurethane foam technology.” The Comply T-400s are supposedly 30 times softer than the silicone used on ordinary bud tips.
